Research Triangle Park in North Carolina is the largest research park in the United States. The City of Durham, North Carolina is a great place for people to live, work, and visit. Located halfway between the Great Smoky Mountains and the beaches of the Atlantic, Durham is centered in the four-county Durham-Chapel Hill Metropolitan Area. The more than 250,000 Durhamites enjoy a rich diversity of amenities right outside their doors, including the Durham Performing Arts Center, Museum of Life + Science, more than 300 restaurants of all kinds, and the famous Durham Bulls baseball team and park, just to name a few.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation is one of state’s largest government agencies. NCDOT is responsible for maintaining approximately 80,000 miles of roadways and 18,000 bridges and culverts, as well as implementing and managing transportation systems involving railways, aviation, ferries, public transit, bicycles, and pedestrian traffic. It is also one of state’s largest public employers with more than 14,000 employees. As a result of their high work volume, NCDOT utilizes numerous facilities throughout the state.

Cabarrus County, North Carolina is nestled in the rolling countryside of the state’s Piedmont region. Its 200,000 residents will happily tell you it is where “America Thrives” and “Racing Lives.” The people of Cabarrus County will also tell you that their community is united around the values of family, faith, collaboration, and tradition. The North Carolina Museum of Art is home to a spectacular collection of treasures worth more than $1 billion. The Museum maintains a permanent collection spanning more than 5,000 years, from ancient Egypt to the present, and hosts national touring exhibitions, classes, lectures, family activities, films, and concerts. This impressive array of exhibits and programs makes NCMA one of the premier art museums in the South—one which has over 23,000 members and welcomes more than 500,000 visitors each year.
